On the World Book Day on the 23rd of April Unesco recognize the importance of books and authors in the spreading of ideas and knowledge in order to increase understanding and tolerance between all humans. Books are on of our most effective tools in our work to end poverty and to promote peace. The aim of the World Book Day is to encourage authors and to eradicate analphabetism. De 23rd of April is also the commemoration day of several great authors including Shakespeare, Cervantes, Laxness, de la Vega and others.

When the holiday falls on a weekend you are called to take a day off without the slightest bad conscience. Lay down on your sofa and enjoy a good book! The day is a great opportunity to read aloud for someone else, to give books as gifts and to have conversations about literature and reading.

“Books are the bodies of dreams!”
